Should I wear one hearing aid or two?

Typically, people end up hearing and understanding speech better when they have binaural amplification (2 hearing aids). Of course, there are special cases where an individual would be better off wearing only one hearing aid, and we can recognize these during your evaluation. Generally speaking, when wearing two hearing aids it is easier for clients to both localize the direction of sound, and understand speech with less strain.

What if I don't like my hearing aids?

Occasionally, amplification through hearing aids isn't a satisfactory solution to our clients. If after being fit with hearing instruments through our practice you are not totally satisfied, we offer 100% refunds within 30 days of all purchases made.

What features do modern hearing aids have?

Modern hearing aids have a wide array of features which can improve a variety of listening conditions. Some of the technology we carry is geared towards the elimination of background noise and preserving speech clarity in noisy environments, as listening in noise is a problem most hearing impaired individuals suffer with. Other products are designed specifically for people who are just beginning to notice a slight hearing loss and may not need much amplification at all- in any environment. During the hearing evaluation, our professionals will explain the latest features to you in very simple terms, and let you decide which features are important to you.

Are hearing aids difficult to use?

While all of our hearing instruments are state of the start and very technologically advanced, we pride ourselves on making them simple for our clients to use. Leave the "tech" stuff to us- that's what we enjoy. We'll make your hearing aids so easy to use that you won't even have to think about them. We've never had a client say "These are too difficult to use".

Can I wear invisible hearing aids?

This is a common question we get, and the answer is different for everyone. Whether or not you can wear invisible hearing aids depends on several factors such as age, quality of vision, manual dexterity, and type of hearing loss. While these factors may seem very limiting, the truth is, if an invisible solution is what you desire, more often than not we are able to make them work for you.

Are my hearing aids going to whistle all the time?

No! These are not your grandpa's hearing aids! We believe that the problem of whistling (feedback) is something that belongs in the hearing aid history books, and that's the only place! We realize this is a huge concern for many people, and employ several techniques to eliminate feedback on all hearing instruments. You are not going to be whistling!

Will my hearing aids be comfortable to wear?

Most of our clients report that after they put their hearing aids on, they completely forget that they are wearing them. In fact, our office staff is notorious for accidentally leaving demo hearing aids in our ears after showing a client how they will look. The aids are so comfortable and discreet that after putting them on, you will forget they are even there.

Why are my friends always complaining about their hearing aids?

The simple answer is, it's a matter of fine tuning. When proper follow up care is not provided after an initial fitting with hearing instruments, people have a hard time adjusting to the hearing aids, and the hearing aids will not work right for them. This is why we require a minimum of 4 follow up visits after you are fit with hearing aids. These visits are extremely important so we can adjust the hearing aids to your lifestyle and preferences. After this initial fitting period of 1-2 months, we encourage our clients to come in 3-4 times a year for regular check-ups and adjustments.

Will you accept my insurance?

We are contracted with most insurance plans and do accept almost all coverages. If you are unsure of your coverage, please feel free to contact our staff and we will let you know what benefits you are entitled to.

How much will hearing aids cost?

This is our most popular question, and for good reason! There are so many misleading advertisements out there today that it is hard to get a straight answer regarding the price of hearing aids. The most popular answer, and the truth, is that it depends. It depends on your hearing loss, your lifestyle, your design and fit preferences, etc. A recent publication from Consumer Reports put the average price for a set of hearing instruments from around $3,000-$7,000. We feel this is a pretty accurate depiction of the actual final sales price of our customers. We realize the burden this expense places on families, and have very flexible payment plans available, including several interest free options.

What is included when I purchase hearing aids?

All purchases from our office include a 2 year manufacturer's warranty on mechanical defects, and a 1 year loss warranty. We also include free follow-up appointments for the life of the hearing aids. These appointments can range from routine cleaning, adjustments, in-office repairs, and regular hearing evaluations. Lastly, a one year supply of free hearing aid batteries is included with every purchase.

Will my hearing aids need batteries?

All hearing aids need batteries, and they are relatively simple to use and inexpensive to purchase. We provide all sizes of batteries in our office, and as a member of our battery club, you will receive periodic shipments of batteries with no postage fees.

What payment options do you offer?

We accept cash, checks, and most major credit cards. We also have very convenient and flexible interest free financing options available.
